Lumen Printing Workshop

$120.00

We are beyond thrilled to be hosting our very first workshop here at Inheritance Studios.

On September 20th, we will be welcoming Julie Pasila, a photo-based artist and educator from the Great Lakes (Toronto/Lake Ontario), for an afternoon of lumen printing.

Julie works collaboratively with the landscape, using reactive analogue materials to document — and physically make — elements that are in flux or soon to disappear. Cycles, seasons, transformation and regeneration are recurring subjects throughout her work.

Together, we’ll learn about the beautiful, sun-powered process of lumen printing and create our own photographic pieces using materials gathered from the surrounding landscape.

Our afternoon will include. . .

— An introduction + demo
— A group walk to forage materials
— Creating our compositions + sunlight exposures
— Fixing, washing + sharing our final pieces
— Refinement + further exploration

As well as an opportunity to explore a selection of Julie’s work, which will be on display in the shop for the day. We look forward to spending the afternoon with you!
